Rocky Mountain Elk Tour

The city of Victor is proud to be part of the Rocky Mountain Elk Tour 2007.  A 9 foot fiberglass elk was purchased by the city, and there are plans for have the local art students design it's final "look".  Locals got together on Saturday Feb. 24th to celebrate Victor's participation in the project.

Special thanks goes out to Sarah Watson for the use of the Victor Hotel for the ceremony, and Richard Courson for preparing the delicious platters for the guests. A fun time was had by all.

The day began early, and we had an inch of snow fall overnight.  The Elk display was delivered the previous night.  At 7:00 am they seemed to have survived the evening intact

By 10:00 am the skies were clearing.  Yeah !

The Chef is busy setting up for his guests.

Just LOOK @ the spread !!!!!!!

Even my bosses from Sally's Tavern showed up !  (I'm pretty sure I'll get flogged or fired for posting this but it's worth it.  I love these people ! )

We got "clowns" in Victor

Some shots of the Victor Hotel lobby and conference room that I especially like :)

I apologize for the water spot in this one.  Remnants of the morning snow on my lens :)

The day turned out much better than the weather forecasted.  Originally it was planned to bring the elk inside the Hotel lobby, but was wisely decided it had more visibility on the street, safe in their trailer.

Lots of folks showed up to welcome Victor's newest resident !
